Production Underwriter

Position Description:

Adroit General Agency is looking for key team members to support Production Underwriting. These positions are focused on the Midwest, Gulf to the South, and Mid-Atlantic to the South areas and are remote for daily operations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Utilizing authority to underwrite, price, and service larger middle market Workers’ Compensation accounts while adhering to underwriting guidelines.
• Establishing and maintaining broker relationships in the Midwest and beyond to produce opportunities to successfully quote and bind business.
• We combine individual account underwriting skills with a highly automated backroom to provide a unique value proposition for higher-severity insureds.
• Assisting in the development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
• Working collaboratively with the home office, marketing and distribution, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of unique insurance placements.

Position Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience underwriting Casualty insurance
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Significant experience and expertise working with a broad array of program structures and pricing models
• Strong understanding of alternative program structures and techniques to sell all styles of programs
• Existing relationships with Midwest brokers handling construction, transportation, or other high-severity classes
• Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills
• Motivated to successfully operate in a remote work culture
• Driven, highly motivated, self-starter
• Excellent marketing and sales skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
